Garmin Venu 2 Plus launched in India promising 9-days battery life
During the CES 2022 earlier this month, Garmin presented a new smartwatch to the world with Garmin Venu 2 Plus moniker. The wearable is a tweaked version of the Garmin Venu 2, and brings all the features from the last year’s model but enhances the whole experience. Interestingly, Garmin is refreshing its lineups rather than trying with new products. However, we can’t blame them since these refreshes are good enough to justify the purchase. The New Garmin Venu 2 Plus features a built-in microphone for calls, animated on-screen workouts, and a new navigation button. Although it was initially limited to the US market, the wearable is now reaching the Indian market.
Indian customers will be able to purchase the wearable through major online channels. The list includes Amazon India, Flipkart, Tata CLiQ, and synergizer.co.in. If online purchases aren’t your cup of tea, then you’ll be glad to know that offline channels like Croma, Just in Time, Helios, and GBS Stores will also be offering the wearable. The Wearable costs around INR 46,990 (~$632).
Garmin Venu 2 Plus specifications
The Garmin Venu 2 Plus packs a 43 mm watch case with stainless steel bezels and a 20 mm quick-release silicone strap. Moreover, it has a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top and Always-On Display Support. The wearable also comes packed with a bunch of fitness tracking features. That includes more than 25 indoor and GPS sports apps. The list of activities includes walking, running, HIIT, Cycling, pool swimming, Pilates, Yoga, Indoor Climbing, Hiking, Advanced Strenght Training with Muscle Maps Graphics etc. The Venu 2 Plus also comes with 75+ preset animated workouts for cardio, yoga, strength, and HIIT.
Another of this smartwatch’s highlights is the built-in microphone. It allows users to make calls or even summon smart voice assistants like Google Assistant and Siri straight from their wrist. It’s unclear if the wearable will get later support for Amazon Alexa. It’s an important feature for the Indian market since Amazon’s Echo lineup is well established in the country.
The wearable also allows users to download music playlists from Spotify, Amazon Music, and Deezer. It also supports PayTM contactless payments. According to Garmin, the wearable can last up to 9 days in the smartwatch. However, if you enable the GPS it will go down to 24 hours. Moreover, if you enable GPS with the Music MOde for workouts, then the battery life will drop down to 8 hours.
